Through engaging activities, girls learn about social skills, managing friendships, personal strengths and finding inner confidence.
GIRL TALK provides interactive well-being workshops for girls ages 7-12 yrs.
Knowing themselves better!
Understanding the power they have over their own lives!
With increased social awareness!
Administered at schools and other community centers throughout the city, Girl Talk is a powerful program that aims to empower young girls in a supportive and engaging environment.
Girl Talk recognizes that girls in this age group are at a critical stage in their personal development. They may begin to face societal pressures, self-doubt, and challenges in their relationships with peers. By providing them with the opportunity to participate in these empowerment workshops, we equip them with the necessary tools to overcome obstacles and embrace their full potential.
Confidence is an essential attribute that can shape a girl's future success and happiness. Through Girl Talk, girls learn strategies to build and maintain their self-confidence. They engage in activities that encourage self-expression, promote positive body image, and celebrate their unique strengths and talents. By cultivating a supportive community, girls gain the confidence to take risks, voice their opinions, and pursue their aspirations without fear of judgment or limitations.

Girls will think, learn and laugh as they enjoy this interactive workshop that dramatically explores friendship. Through active discussion, brainstorming, games and role play, we'll explore why friendship is important, ways to make new friends, how to keep friends and what to do if we find ourselves in a tricky social situation.
With a positive mindset and a "can do" attitude, it's amazing what we can do! From bouncing balls to splatting eggs, this entertaining workshop educates girls about resilience, the joys of embracing challenges, the power of "yet," gratitude and also how to calm out bodies and minds when we feel anxious.
Wanting to belong is natural but in this day and age of digital technology and information overload, girls are often disconnecting from themselves as they try to be like everyone else. In this engaging presentation, we give girls the headspace to think about their own unique identity, values and strengths.

About Abbie - Your Facilitator
I have a deep yearning to support others, especially young people who are facing struggles in their own life such as anxiety, stress and depression. My experience as a peer counselor and a crisis specialist for the national 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline has enabled me to discover my passion of working with our youth.
I am a trained facilitator of the Girl Power program. I am aware of the importance to build relationships and trust with young people. I am truly dedicated to the young people I teach and mindful of being in the present moment with them.
